Dunston Fed 3 - 0 Northallerton Town |

Town paid the price of being a man down from 30 minutes and were a shadow of the side that won in midweek. Town should have been in front after just five minutes when Gary Shardha broke into the box from the right but hit his shot straight at the keeper and the chance was gone. The home side went ahead with a well taken goal 1-0.
Town then had Chillingsworth sent off for foul and abusive language following an incident in which he was pulled back in a scoring opportunity and though he got the shot away it was with much reduced power because of the foul on him. However the Referee failed to bring back play and when confronted by the Town player he produced the red card (HT 1-0).
Town started the second half well and Stu Jackson was very unlucky to have a great header saved within minutes of the restart. Town conceded a further two goals and deservedly lost 3-0. Though the sending off undoubtedly caused us problems we very much contributed to or own downfall, poor passing, slack marking at set pieces cost us dearly, only three saves from Paddy Pisani in the Town goal along with missed chances from the opposition kept the score at three. With two more difficult away games this week Town will have to perform much better than this, when you go down to ten men you expect others to up their game today they didn't. |
