Town finally got that elusive first win today against an accomplished Morpeth side. Town included new signings, John Ryan, Paul Davies and Sean Joseph with Paul Harrison on the bench. Town started well but the visitors made their intentions clear from the start when within minutes of the KO Sean Joseph was clattered from behind with only a resulting free kick when clearly it was a caution. Town went ahead on 7 minutes when Sean Joseph was hacked down again. From the resulting free kick Stuart Jackson headed home (1-0).
Morpeth pressed constantly until the equaliser came (1-1) but Town battled away superbly and fully desrved the win when Scott McNichol shot through a crowd to make the final score 2-1. |
