Town were kicked out of the FA Vase for this season after being handed victory on a plate. This uninspiring game lurched from bad worse to worse as Town's abysmal record in front of goal was compounded by an 87th minute penalty miss, but then to concede defeat on 91 minutes and not even get to extra time makes it all the more painful. It has to be said the visitors were also poor and probably the goal was the only decent chance they had all night. However there is no comfort in that and Stu Dawson and Martyn Speight are under pressure to end this awful sequence of results.
No win so far this season is now haunting the whole of club, and was testimony for the penalty, Steve Roberts body language lacked confidence as he approched the spot kick and the end result was not surprising. Chris Walker and Stu Jackson were the shining stars with 'JACKOOOOO' sneaking the MOM. |
