Northallerton Town 1 - 2 Penrith |
| Arngrove Northern League Division 1 |
| Monday 25 August 2008 |
|
| Not the best first half of the season with a doubt however, Penrith were impressive their movement and speed of attack had Town under serious pressure even so the home side made a bright start in the first fifteen minutes.
The visitors took the lead 0n 22 minutes when a cross from the left appeared to be going out but the Penrith player never gave up the cause and headed the ball back to the near post and Paddy Pisani failed to hold onto the ball and Town were a goal down.0-1. Penrith kept up the pressure and following a Town corner the ball was quickly moved to the other and a quality finish by scorer of the first goal Robinson made it 2-0.HT
Town got it together much better in the second half and kept a tight rein on the visitors attack a few half chances came and went but on 55 mins Lee Court finally hit the target 1-2. Town really worked hard and Scott McNicol was unlucky late in the game when his effort just slid past the post.Town never stopped trying and In fairness Stu Dawson & Marty Speight have been dropped in it today with players pulling out at the last minute holidays and injuries are also creating problems for the lads, however they are facing upto it with a great attitude. |
