| Those Town fans who attended todays game will have come away from the game wondering how we did not take all three points. Town outplayed & outclassed their opponents throughout the game. We had so many chances to wrap the game up time and again either poor fininshing or bad luck conspired to keep, the ball out of the net.The game should have been over by half time,on 9 mins a Ckarke shot was goal bound only for it to be deflected wide, 14 mins Davies got away down the left his cross was met by Anderson who's weak shot was easily saved .On 20 mins Jason Newall's powerful header was beaten away onto the bar,29 mins Gary Shardha beat the full back cut inside and his left shot hit the post and back into the keepers hands. 31 mins Clarke again hit the woodwork and so it went upto half time 0-0.
They say in football that if you don't take your chances it will comeback to haunt you and it did ,0n 55 mins free kick came in no one appeared to attack the cross and it fell limply into the net at the farpost 1-0.
Town only had themselves to blame for the situation and for ten minutes after the goal we looked as though we would concede again,however we kept the ball well and were patient.Town rewarded on 73 minutes when Roberts headed past the keeper from a free kick 1-1. From this point in it was Town all the way as we bombarded the goal
with constant shots on target yet somehow the score remained level upto FT 1-1.
Town are missing Chllingsworth badly his cool head in front of goal would have paid dividends today ,so it's a problem the management duo will have to resolve . |
