| Well you will have read similar reports from me already this season, however I make no apologies for that as again Town were really unlucky to lose this game. Quality finishing from Bay's experienced strike force was the difference today. Town dominated the early stages of the game creating a number of chances to take the lead but without having that cutting edge up front. At the back Jason Newall and Chris Walker were excellent, Newall taking the MOM due to the fact he scored from a corner. Bay took the lead on 32 mins when Town lost posession just outside the visitors penalty area. Bay broke down the right and Paul Chow struck a low drive past Town keeper Psani (0-1). Town still had the lions share of the ball but just couldn't find the telling pass, shots from Roberts and Clarke went close and at half time it stayed at 0-1. The second half was pretty much a repeat of the first with Town pressuring the visitors, but again it was Town's achillies of losing posession when in control of the game, which again resulted in conceding a goal on 63 mins, it was Lee Kerr who finished in style (0-2). The players heads could easily have dropped, but again they dug deep and Jason Newall put Town back in the game on 73 mins with a fine header, it was game on (1-2). However the visitors strike supremo Lee Kerr got on the end of a rebound and made the game safe for Bay on 80 minutes. So home on Wednesday night to Shildon, Town's luck has to change lets hope it's on Wednesday. |
