Northallerton Town 1 Ashington 2 |
| Arngrove Northern League Division 1 |

| Town lost this vital game with a lacklustre performance that epitomises this season. The visitors were no more skilfull than us but they had committment, enthusiasm and a will to win the game. Town went 0-1 down following an even 25 minutes having had the better chances of the two teams. Only a Jon Payne header got Town back into the game (HT 1-1). In the second half Town suffered from the old 'headless chicken' syndrome, running around with no apparent reason or end product. Having said that, Hinton missed a unmarked header 8 yards out and Durrance had a golden chance in the final minute after our defence conceded another soft goal to give Ashington the points. Washington lost, Bishops never played, so we need at least 4 points preferably six from the last two games, otherwise it is trap door time. |
