| Town continued their recent improved performances, the level has been good for the last three games, however we again came away with nothing. Having dominated the first half and going in with the lead following a great strike from Paul Hinton, things looked good and the situation should have been resolved as we missed two excellent chances to wrap the game up by the break. The second half was the opposite as we struggled a bit at the back with Bosco missing which weakened the defence and when Moors scored twice in a short period to go 1-2 I though the writing was on the wall. In fairness the lads never gave up and showed great resolve to equalise in the 92nd minute with a Rob Bettson goal (2-2). All we had to do was see out time but our concentration dropped yet again when a free kick came into the box and we scratched about trying to clear it. The ball seemed to rebound off the scorer from our clearance and over the line in the 96th minute, 2-3 and defeat. I was gutted. Just like Chester Le Street the points were in the bag and then we lose out, 2 points then and another today which were vital to our survival. New boys Peter Flear in goal looked good as did Steve Ashton who contibuted well to the game. I have marginally recovered from my depression as we prepare for Wednesday night! |
