Northallerton Town 0 Durham City 2 |
| Arngrove Northern League Division 1 |
| Saturday 26 January 2008 |
|
| High flyers Durham City came to The Regency probably expecting an easy 3 points however nothing was further from the truth. Town may have lost this battle but they showed the kind attitude and committment that will see them clear the relegation zone. For 70 minutes Town matched the visitors all the way and were extremely unfortunate not get a penalty decision in a first half which the likes of Bettson, Jankowicz, Millington and Earl were excellent (HT 0-0). The second half saw us under more pressure but the team worked well and defended as a unit, midfield looked much more solid. All in all a better performance than Chester-le-Street and yet we come away with nothing, Durham were assisted by a penalty award that was a con and the Ref fell for it but hey that's football! I and many fans I spoke to are much more optimistic about the future after this showing. |
