| This was the most encouraging performance for some time and should give everyone cause for optimism. Andy Toman had Paul Hinton and 'Bosco' Jankowicz back from injury along with new boy Michael Dowse up front, the effect on the team was obvious. Everyone battled away, midfield did all the things they had not done in previous weeks and Godwin Douglas scored two great goals. The first on 57 mins, Kalumn Holbrook took a pinpoint corner and Godwin met the ball square on the forehead giving the keeper no chance from 12 yards (0-1). The second on 77 mins when Anthony Hume on as sub broke down the right and crossed to the unmarked Godwin who drilled his shot from 14 yards past the keeper (0-2). Bishops struck back almost immediately with a goal while Town were still celebrating (1-2). However unlike previous games Town did not let their heads go down, in fact they stood their ground and got a thoroughly deserved win with Rob Bettson outstanding in defence, the pocket dynamo showed his quality today. Now we must carry this forward to next week, Andy is busy trying to bring in more new faces to strengthen the squad and it is good to say if today's team continues in this form they may just have to wait their turn. |
