| Town ended the year in familiar fashion with another inept display. With only the experienced Hinton missing this was probably the manager's strongest team and that in itself says everything. West were nothing special as have been many teams this season, it seems we are incapable of matching the visitors in terms of work-rate, industry, football nouse and most of all - BOTTLE! Town's first half performance was another in a long line of poor displays and we were lucky to go in at half-time only a goal down. Toman's half-time 'talk' (I suggest it was probably more than that) certainly brought an improvement, but the midfield must have been colour blind because the amount of times we gave the ball to a red shirt was ridiculous! We went on to concede another two soft goals (0-3) then late in the game we showed we could play when Danny Earl finished well with a half volley (1-3), but in truth it was no more than a consolation. Results on the day were not what we needed and it is clearly down to us to get out of trouble. We can expect no help from elsewhere and shouldn't. |
