The proverbial game of two halves comes to mind following this result. At half time I was confident we would take something from the game, we had competed as well as in the previous three games and all seemed well. How wrong could I be!!!! Town were a goal down straight from the restart, poor marking from a corner, 1-0 within six minutes. Harmsworth sold Norton very short on a backpass when it should have gone over the railway, Norton kicked under pressure from the right of the box straight to a home player 2-0. From here it was downhill all the way as the competitive edge of the first half dissapeared like one of Tommy Coopers bad tricks. Andy Toman was bemused after the game at the way his side capitulated, midfield must bear the brunt of the criticism as they failed to match the opposition's running off the ball, players were not picked up, too many people ball-watching and the lack of effort in general from some players left me disappointed. This was the last thing we needed before our FA Vase game next Saturday, some of these players need to look in the mirror and be honest in their assessment of their individual perfomance, because if they don't the manager WILL!! |
