| Town surprisingly left Danny Earl on the bench and Craig Toman out of the squad from Wednesday night, Paul Hinton was available but he was on the bench. Town continued this worrying bent of horrendous first half performances as they allowed the first half to pass them by, only keeper Norton and centre backs Harmsworth and Fairlamb looked anything like and to cap the half, Luke Bythway missed a 45th minute penalty that would have had Town in at the break level after the home side's 11th minute opener. However there was improvement in the second half, we created five clear cut chances but could only work the keeper on one occasion, Hume missed two unmarked headers from 6 yards and a volley from not much further, Earl also had two opportunities to score. Jack Norton made two excellent saves in the second period that kept us in with a chance, but to no avail. Again our midfield were lost, not working hard enough when not in possession and our passing was abominal, we will have to be a lot better when we face Consett on Saturday, the boss continues his search for two new competitors for the midfield positions. |
