| Town returned to winning ways with a hard fought 3 points today following the midweek defeat at Durham. Town matched the home side throughout the first half and had the most shots at goal, on 8 minutes Sean Woods hit a drive that just went wide of the target, Luke Bythway was on target on 38 minutes only to see keeper McSween push the ball wide. On 43 Minutes Simon Dodsworth was unlucky not to score with his effort. Though Town had the majority of shots, the home side had the lion's share of possession. Town's midfield was lacking pace and aggression and this led to pressure on the back four, however half-time score was 0-0. The second half started with Town now working harder and controlling the game upto the 60th minute when a poor defensive clearance fell to the edge of the box, no-one closed the ball down and Seaham scored against the run of play (1-0). The home side were now full of confidence and again Town's midfield failed to protect the back four, however the introduction of Anthony Hume up front soon paid dividends as he harassed defenders and supported the hard working Luke Bythway whose work was rewarded on 76 minutes when his looping header from a corner pulled Town level (1-1). From the restart Seaham came back at Town only for Lee Bythway to steal the ball and place a magnificent through ball into the path of Paul Hinton, who kept his cool and stroked the ball home from 18 yards on 78 minutes (1-2). Town had a difficult period to get through and with the exception of one or two scares, ended the game in control. A super win which sete up Saturday's FA Vase game at home to Darlington RA.
