| This game was simple, the team that scored with the gale force wind behind them would walk away with all three points and West managed it, all be it with the last kick of the game. This was a cruel blow to a hard working Town team who, in my opinion, edged it over the 90 minutes and certainly played the better football. West missed a penalty on 15 minutes when Sam clattered the West forward, a clear penalty Sam was lucky not to receive a card. Charlton had a one-on-one with the West keeper just before half time but shot wide. Mickey Waller was outstanding again today, however West scored with a low shot from an unmarked player with virtually the last kick, to break the hearts of the travelling faithful. Looked offside to me, several players were booked for the ensuring protest, but the goal stood. Town now focus on Wednesday night’s trip to Whitby, which should be an interesting game with Town's vastly improving performances. |
