| Town put on a brave display against the league leaders on a snow covered pitch . Town were denied a goal within two minutes of the start , a long ball went to home keeper Jack Norton who carried the ball out of the box ,then dropped it at Hodgsons feet and he put the ball in the net. As Town celebrated the goal the referee decide it should be a free kick and yellow card for the keeper.
The first half was all Town a neutral watching would not have known which side was top of the league.Town continued
to work hard in the second half however the home side
stepped up a gear and a goal from Emson put Consett ahead .
Later a penalty put them 2-0 up. Town may have lost this game but the effort put in was excellent Gary Shardha worked his socks off for his MOM award. |
