| Quite possibly one of the best ever games at the Regency today. It looked like it was going to be an awful afternoon for Town when Ryton were 3-0 up inside 11 minutes. The first went in after less than a minute when Walton beat Barford at his near post. The second was a good move finished with a good finish afer a good counter attack from the Ryton team. The third was an error by Barford when his kick went straight to McPhilip who chipped the keeper from 35 yards. Northallerton however came back, Speight brought on Chillingsworth who made all the difference. He had only been on for three minutes when he set up John Ryan to score yet again. The next didnt come until the second half when Town were awarded a ver controversial penalty which Chillingsworth converted. Substitute McNicol then fired into the top corner to complete the comeback on 78 minutes, beating three players before beating the Ryton keeper. The drama was not to end though as Chillingsworth was played onside by the Ryton right back and went through to score and make in 4-3 in the 89th minute. Town however could not hold on, and Walton fired in to the top corner in the 92nd minute, and Ryton completed the second comeback with a penalty in the 96th minute. Very disappointing for Town who arguably deserved to win this game, but need to take the positives in to the North Riding Senior Cup tie in midweek. Chillingsworth wins man of the match for his excellent performance after coming on in the first half, scoring two goas and setting up two and generally leading the side. |
