| Town met the best side they have faced all season tonight, maybe the score looks bad but it has to be said Bay played some excellent football. Town had Stu Dawson in goal as Pisani had work problems and could not make the game. Straight from the kick off Town wwere under pressure when the ball was cleared to the edge of the box it was thundered past Dawson with the keeper helpless. 1-0 The lead was increased within ten minutes as a poor Dawson clearance ended in a corner which was stabbed home 2-0
Before half time the looked over as Bay went in 3-0 in front. Town to their credit kept plugging away and a Chis Walker deep cross evaded everyone and dropped into the far corner 3-1. However the glory was shortlived another poor defensive mistake 4-1. The lads battled away still and when Sean Joseph went down the left ,cut along the byline and pulled the back to John Ryan who smashed it home 4-2. Town now had Bay under pressure for the first time and Chillingsworth was very unlucky not to score during this period of play, Bay keeper made a good save from a Roberts shot, Town were then victims of a poor offside decision as the Asst Ref fell a sleep on a blatant offside which the home side converted this led to a dispute from Clarke and he was shown a second yellow the second sending off on two games for Town 5-2.
John Ryan scored again after Bay had gone 6-2 up , Ryans efforts throughout the game earned him the MOM award.
Tow Law on Saturday becomes a very important match in terms of gaining some much needed points. |
