Northallerton Town FC and Northallerton Juniors FC have
jointly agreed to create a new team under the governance of both
clubs. The team will be
known as Northallerton Town Academy and will play in The Jack
Hatfield Teesside League Division 2 from next season. The aim is to
develop and encourage local players from 16 years old upwards into
ultimately Northern League players.
Chairman Dave Watson said, "Discussions have been ongoing for some
months between the Senior and Junior Clubs Development Team, trying
to achieve greater co-operation between us."
"In 2010 we held a joint Fundraising Dinner and this is a
consequence of that partnership. Both branches of our organisation
are keen to develop local players for the on going football future
in our Community and we are delighted with this decision. The Team
will be Managed by Carl Kelly who is a qualified FA Level 2 Coach
and is also qualified in First Aid and Injury Treatment, The team
will play on the main pitch at Ainderby Road on Saturdays when the
Northern League team are away."
"This will give players who have not played Senior Football on
Saturdays the opportunity to develop their skills and experience at
a higher standard . Fixtures will be advertised when available and
we would hope many locals fans will come along and support the
team."
